Squarespace is fine until it is not.
Easy to start. Plenty of my clients did. I am not scoring points for that. The problem is the ceiling.
You can change colours. The layout is still the template. Then you need a thing it cannot do, and you stop.

Questions about leaving Squarespace
Can I take my content?
Yes. Squarespace lets you export. I move pages, posts, and images. I often tidy the structure on the way.
How much to replace it?
From £2,500, same as a new build. Move, design, code, redirects, a year of hosting. Fixed quote after I look.
Will it look better?
Squarespace templates are tidy and generic. Mine is for your brand. No grid I have to fight.
Is a one-off fee really cheaper than monthly?
Over time, yes. Business is about £396 a year. Five years is nearly £2,000 and you own nothing. £2,500 plus a year of hosting and the files are yours.
How long does it take?
Usually 2 to 4 weeks. Small sites can be 14 working days. I put a date on it first.
