The site is the thing people meet first. If it is old, slow, or cramped on a phone, they leave.
Google is harsher on slow pages than it was. Most UK traffic is on a phone. People expect a page in a couple of seconds. An old platform fails all of that.
People bounce. It looks broken on a phone. The form does nothing. You dropped off page one for searches that used to work. Any one of those is enough.
A redesign is not a new coat of paint. I change the words if they are dated, fix the structure for search, and write it on something that will last. Not a cosmetic job.

- Words and look
- Restructure the pages. Design it for the brand you have now.
- Rebuild
- I write it in Next.js. Redirects from the old URLs so rankings do not fall off a cliff.

- Launch, watch it, 30 days of tweaks. I keep an eye on the search move.

Questions about a redesign
Will I lose Google rankings?
Not if the redirects are done. I map the old URLs and send them on. Most of my rebuilds pick up after launch because the new site is faster and cleaner. I do not promise a ranking.
How long does it take?
Usually 4 to 8 weeks, depending on size. I put a date on it before we start. A big archive takes longer.
Can I keep the domain?
Yes. Same name, new site. I handle DNS and hosting.
What if money is tight?
We can do home, services, and contact first, then the rest. You get a better core without paying for every old page on day one.
Do you move the existing copy?
Yes. I often tidy it. A rewrite is extra if you want one.
Redesign or just updates?
If it is more than three or four years old, on an old platform, slow on a phone, or quiet: rebuild. Patching rarely fixes the structure. I will say which after I look.
